Bird Flu the Reality and Defense

This is perhaps one of the most important entries we’ll put up on this blog…the straight skinny on bird flu…H5N1.

This stuff has been around in birds and pigs, but has mutated to survive in humans. This first happened in places like China, Vietnam and Thailand where there are open air slaughter houses, meat markets and animal markets so that people are in close contact with these animals.

All that’s needed for bird flue to become a pandemic is for a few travelers to become infected and take the infection home. In fact the virus has already spread to Europe. Then as the virus mutates and become less deadly, it will survive longer and spread farther…becoming even more dangerous because it will be able to infect more people.

No one knows when the mutation will take place…When it will become a pandemic…Or even if it will.

What is known is that infectious disease is that throughout history -- about every 27 years -- something comes along and wipes out a few million people. And the time is due right now for another one.

Bird Flu isn’t a 100% killer…

Most people don't know that a fair percentage of people infected with influenza get over it without showing any symptoms at all. Even during the 1918 influenza pandemic that killed so many people around the world, as many as 7% of all people infected by the flu showed no symptoms.

Flu isn’t like Ebola that kills 90’% of those infected. When the WHO says 33% to 50% of the world’s population will be infected, that doesn’t mean that many will die.

Using the U.S. Government’s estimates 47 million will be infected and 207,000 will die. That’s a 0.4% mortality rate – about 4 people in every 1,000 infected. On the other hand, the WHO’s data shows 189 confirmed cases (reporting may be understated) have resulted in 100 deaths…that’s a 54% death rate.

But based on historical data, deaths will come mostly from those with compromised immune systems. Others will overcome the disease and live on with newly-formed antibodies, meaning they are now immune to the disease.

How to prepare…

Before you go out and buy Tamiflu, you need to be aware that the virus is mutating rapidly and what works today may not work tomorrow…So bottom-line, who knows if Tamiflu will even work when the time comes.

There has been more than one scientist say that already…So you can look up the sources if you want.

What I’m doing is continuing to do what I’m already doing…eating and supplementing to make my immune system as strong as possible.

The top anti-viral herbs, foods and minerals are:
· Ginger
· Onion
· Garlic
· Olive leaf
· Horseradish
· Habanero
· Zinc
· Grapefruit seed extract
· Wild mountain oil of oregano

There’s a product that combines all those ingredients in liquid form -- Jon Barron's Baseline of Health Formula "Super ViraGon": (current price is $39.95 for one bottle, or $100 for five) http://www.baselinenutritionals.com.

It’s been recommended by Mike Adams at www.birdfludefense.com (password = blue).

Just remember that olive leaf, grapefruit seed extract and wild mountain oil of oregano are such good bug killers they’ll also kill your good stomach flora…So you’ll need to eat natural (that’s sugarless) acidophilus sources to replace the flora.

Oh, and habanero chile is the 2nd hottest chili in the world – so watch out.

I just eat a lot of ginger, garlic and onion. When I feel I need to ward off the onset of something, I dig out the other stuff…And eat natural yoghurt.
